Get the best from your cleaner with our list!

Here at Helpling, our team has put together some handy tips on how to write a checklist for your cleaner.

Communicate

As always, our first tip is to communicate with your cleaner! If you’re unsure of how long it will take to clean up your attempt at making sushi, ask them. Together, you can decide how long each task will take and what they will be able to get done in the time you’ve booked.

Make a weekly schedule

Make a complete list of the jobs you want done. Divide it into rooms, tasks and calculate how long each task will take. If you’re unsure, ask your cleaner. This will allow your cleaner to get a clear understanding of what you expect from them and help them to keep track of what needs to be done.

Prioritise

Prioritise the tasks that are most important to you. If it’s absolutely vital that Aunt Mabel’s clock collection is dusted and polished, let your cleaner know. This way, the cleaner will know to spend more time on these tasks and get them done first.

Dirty kitchens and bathrooms take longer than you think

You might not realise it, but a dirty kitchen takes a lot longer than you think. Cleaning the cupboards, defrosting the freezer, cleaning the fridge, mopping the floor and organising the spice rack according to historical provenance takes time.

Extras? No problem

If you want your pillows plumped for that hotel finish, our cleaners can do that. Just let them know and don’t forget to account for that extra time.
